Nashville Fully Reopened For The First Time Yesterday, Let’s Check Out The Best From The Police Scanner

Nashville is BACK.

The city has been slowly loosening restrictions for a few months now, and Broadway has been bustling recently as tourists flocked back.

But yesterday, for the first time in over a year, Nashville fully reopened with no capacity restrictions and no mask mandates.

Rise and Shine!

And, well, people were ready to party.

Just took a walk around town before headin back to KY for the weekend and downtown Nashville is ROCKIN’. Things are getting back to normal baby!

Let’s take a look at how the reopening went, courtesy of one of my favorite Twitter accounts, @ScanNashville.

The party got started early, with somebody passing out in the bathroom at Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar at 2:30 in the afternoon.

metro nashville fire going to 307 broadway, at Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, for an unconscious person, it’s 2:35pm on friday, welcome to the weekend folks…31 year old female passed out in the rooftop bathroom

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 14, 2021

And of course the party wagons and pedal taverns were out in full force – and at full capacity.

It seems COVID was the furthest thing from people’s minds as they celebrated the return to normal.

The news was even on hand at Acme Feed + Seed to cover the party.

The city of Nashville also announced yesterday that several bars will be giving out free beer to anybody who shows their COVID vaccination card.

Today through May 31st, Nashville residents can receive a free beer or coffee by showing their COVID-19 vaccination card at participating businesses.

Thank you to all the generous businesses supporting vaccinations in Nashville!

So @ScanNashville decided to see how many “punches” we could get on the vaccination cards, and punching the card every time police were called to a particular location.

Jason Aldean’s and Ole Red were punched on the card early in the day.

And as the night wore on, the calls for people who were partying a little too hard started rolling in.

metro fire transported an intoxicated person from in front of the sun diner, is that worth a free beer SD punch?

Even the Uber drivers seemed to be celebrating, which is a pretty shitbag move even if this guy wasn’t actually driving for Uber at the time.

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

But then we had calls for people who had a little too much to drink at FGL House.

metro fire going to 120 3rd Ave S at FGL House for an intoxicated person; with that we’ll punch the card…

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And the WKND Hang Suite, a bar and hookah lounge in midtown Nashville, just a few blocks from Broadway.

metro fire also going to the WKND hang suite, for intoxicated female passed out; let’s put another hole in the punch card

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And Loser’s in downtown Nashville, where the callers were too drunk to tell police where they were even at.

I get it, to be honest. I’ve been there too.

the callers are too drunk to advise where they are actually at, fire and police units are having trouble finding this person, should be in a truck in a parking lot near this location…

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

The drunks also found their way off Broadway to nearby Church Street.

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And we had some fighting at the Hard Rock Cafe. Man, and I thought that was a family place.

metro police have a call from a complainant regarding a domestic, at 100 broadway, hard rock cafe; good enough for an HR punch on the card

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

We had people passing out at Honky Tonk Central…because of course they were.

metro police unit needs an ambulance to honky tonk central, 329 broadway, has a 47 year old female unconscious on the second floor; will put an HT punch on our card

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And falling down at Ole Red.

metro fire going to 300 broadway, old red, injuries from a fall; this aint bingo, we can punch another OR on our card…

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

There was a fight at Nudie’s.

metro police unit has a fight at nudies, 409 broadway

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And a guy at the Valentine who was so drunk he needed an ambulance.

metro police needs an ambulance right next to the valentine, 312 broadway, has a 35 year old male intoxicated

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

Even the usually-well behaved AJ’s Good Time Bar got in on the action this time around. I don’t think Alan would approve of this behavior at his bar. I guess she was “way down in her whiskey.”

make that two ambulances, has a second patient, female, conscious with a head injury also at that location

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

Then we had ANOTHER person falling down drunk right next door from AJ’s at the Mellow Mushroom.

metro fire also going to the mellow mushroom, 423 broadway for a fall injury, could be a duplicate call…

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

And a fight at Jason Aldean’s, back where it all started.

metro police units have a fight at jason aldeans, 307 broadway

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

Then just before closing time, we had an unconscious man at Kid Rock’s. Honestly surprised it took that long to get a call from there. Kid Rock’s is, as we all remember, the same place where a man was arrested a couple weeks ago for removing his colostomy bag and swinging it at police officers.

police out with an unconscious male

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

By 3 AM, when the bars shut down, we ended up with seventeen punches on the card.

well seventeen punches on the #CovidVaccineFreeBeerPunchCard for the close of friday night at 3am, a JA and KR to finish it up is pretty appropriate…you all stay safe out there, too many critical accidents tonight… pic.twitter.com/T0vwOQyqFl

— Nashville Scanner (@ScanNashville) May 15, 2021

Yep, Nashville is back.

And that’s just the first night.

Just checked the CDC website and it said even if you’re fully vaccinated you still shouldn’t ride party buses while downtown Nashville
